"Lock, Stock & Barrel"

Throughout the 18th Century boys were apprenticed to a master, who taught them a craft. After years of working for their master, they went on to their next level of achievement...the Journeyman. The Journeyman expanded his skills by working with other Masters and Journeymen. The final step that was achieved was to become a Master, a lifelong work.

Here a Journeyman Gunsmith works at his trade. In building a gun, he employs a wide range of skills; blacksmithing, woodworking, whitesmith, and of course, artistry. Hundreds of hours can be spent on creating a fine firearm.
