A dragoon pauses on the edge of a battle,
trying to identify friend from foe.
The “fog of war” was a reality
of the 18th Century...constant firing
of black powder caused great clouds
of smoke, at times obscuring the enemy
only yards away. Uniforms were also
a factor in identity...both British
and Continental Dragoons wore green
jackets at various times.
